While annual rainfall is concentrated over a few months, drought periods can be prolonged, requiring very rigorous management of water resources. In addition, the region&#8217;s rapid urbanization increases the risks associated with urban runoff, spot flooding and pressure on water tables.  <\/p><p data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"1039\">In this
