isola 2000
France
The highest golf course in France at the time of its construction (2,000m), it was designed by Jean Garaïalde. As the course was built on a site with granite soil, crushing the rocks “in situ” preserved the balance of the natural biotope (loess brought in by the wind), while reducing construction costs.

Project
context
the isola 2000 golf course anchored in its natural environment
Perched at an altitude of over 2,000 meters in the Mercantour massif, Golf d’Isola 2000 stands out as one of Europe’s highest mountain courses. With its rugged terrain of valleys, ravines and larch trees, it offers an authentic experience for golfers seeking a technical challenge. With 18 holes for a par 69 and a length of some 5,035 meters, it impresses not by its distance but by its gradients, its majestic panoramas – including the Argentera massif – and its unspoilt natural environment.
