The athletics track at the Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, is a sports facility that meets international standards such as the IXth Francophonie Games in 2023. Located in one of Central Africa’s most emblematic stadiums, it is used for national and international competitions, as well as training sessions.

THE WORK :
Gregori International carried out a complete renovation of the 6,500m² Martyrs Stadium athletics track, resulting in a brand-new surface approved to World Athletics standards.

The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has awarded the French company Gregori International the contract to renovate the athletics track at Kinshasa’s Stade des Martyrs in preparation for the IX Games of La Francophonie, held from July 28 to August 6, 2023. The IX Games of La Francophonie brought together some 3,500 participants, including nearly 2,000 competitors from 37 delegations. The event combined sporting and cultural competitions, showcasing the diversity and talent of French-speaking countries.
A total of 46 events were contested, including competitions for able-bodied athletes and para-athletics events:
Races: sprints, middle and long distances, hurdles, relays, 3000 m steeplechase
Jumps: triple, high, long, pole vault
Throws, combined events….
Gregori International was also entrusted with the construction of the Martyrs annex stadium (see reference).

- Analysis of existing coating: delamination, wear, layer compatibility.
- Topographical and geometrical surveys: to check regulatory dimensions.
- Removal of old coating
