Project
context

stade de bata, the ideal sports infrastructure

The central venue for the CAN 2012, the stadium was once again in demand for the 2015 edition, which required a major overhaul of its main pitch.

Gregori International has been involved on two occasions:

  • In 2012, for the complete reconstruction of the soccer pitch, with the installation of a new grass structure meeting CAF standards for intensive use in official competitions.
  • In 2015, for a targeted and optimized renovation of the main pitch, in line with the technical requirements of the major African teams.

Each intervention was designed with sustainability and performance in mind, with particular attention paid to the agronomic quality of the soil, the regularity of the plant cover, and integrated irrigation and drainage systems.

These two projects ensured that the stadium was fully operational for both editions of the CAN, helping to make Equatorial Guinea one of the countries capable of hosting Africa’s biggest soccer events with rigor and reliability.
