context
a stadium to meet Morocco's sporting challenges
It hosts the resident club Kawkab Athletic Club de Marrakech, national team matches, continental competitions (Club World Cup 2013 & 2014, CHAN 2018, CAN U17/U23) as well as concerts, seminars and cultural gatherings.
Between 2009 and 2010, as part of the drive to modernize national sports facilities, the Ministry of Public Works awarded Gregori International the contract to build the soccer pitches (main and annex) and the athletics track at Marrakech’s Grand Stade, under the direction of architect Sad Benkirane.
The objective was clear: to guarantee playing surfaces up to African Cup of Nations standards, while ensuring the functional versatility of the complex. The main pitch was designed with highly resistant natural grass, capable of withstanding intensive use in demanding climatic conditions. The adjoining pitch, perfectly integrated into the layout, optimizes the management of training and preparation sessions. As for the athletics track, it meets international standards, reinforcing the site’s multi-sport vocation.
This project mobilized all Gregori International’s technical know-how to deliver a sustainable, high-performance infrastructure for elite sports.
