context
Moorea Green Pearl Golf Course, a Polynesian paradise
Moorea Golf Course, also known as Moorea Green Pearl Golf Course, is located on the island of Moorea, approximately 15 kilometres north-west of Tahiti, in French Polynesia. Designed by architect Jack Nicklaus, this 18-hole course stretches between the green mountains and the turquoise Pacific coastline. The site offers an exceptional natural setting, with lush tropical vegetation, lagoons, wetlands and volcanic landscapes.
However, this natural beauty is accompanied by significant environmental constraints:
The humid tropical climate generates abundant rainfall, sometimes concentrated over short periods.
The site has soils that are sometimes unstable or subject to erosion, with low-lying areas exposed to flood risk.
Our proximity to the ocean means we have to pay particular attention to preserving sensitive coastal environments and preventing diffuse pollution.
In this context, water management is a fundamental pillar of golf development, both for environmental protection and course performance.
