providenciales golf club, a caribbean challenge
Designed by architect Karl Litten and opened in 1992, the course reveals a target-style layout that challenges golfers yet remains accessible to all thanks to its four sets of tees. For the most seasoned players, the layout from the black tees reaches 6,705 yards (≈ 6,135 meters), but it remains playable for amateurs from the shorter tees.
The atmosphere of the Royal Turks & Caicos is magnified by typical landscapes: limestone reliefs, lush local vegetation, well-integrated bodies of water – there are 11 holes bordered by water – and a rich bird fauna (flamingos, herons, egrets, etc.). The occasional strong wind adds an extra strategic dimension, varying the difficulty according to the day’s conditions.
