CHAN 2018, a major competition and infrastructure
Located in Nairobi, the Stade International Moi de Kasarani, also known as Kasarani Stadium, is Kenya’s largest stadium, with a capacity of over 60,000. It is a strategic venue for hosting major continental and international competitions.
As part of a national program to upgrade the country’s key sports infrastructures, the Kenyan authorities have embarked on a vast project to renovate and modernize several major stadiums, including Kasarani, in order to meet the standards required by CAF and FIFA.
These stadiums, though different in size and atmosphere, all contributed to the success of CHAN 2018, strengthening Kenya’s sports infrastructure and providing an ideal setting for top-level soccer competitions in Africa.
