The Mindoubé landfill is the main household waste disposal site for the communes of Libreville, Owendo and Akanda, providing waste treatment for a population of over 800,000. Covering an area of 8 ha, it has been completely saturated for many years.
Gregori International and its partners have provided the Gabonese authorities with a Global Development Plan for the rehabilitation of the site.

- This study has four components
- Securing the site (geotechnical study, remodeling, stabilization) ;
- Controlling environmental impacts (leachate collection and treatment, biogas capture, stormwater management);
- Land reclamation (energy balance of waste, economic or recreational activities, landscaping) ;
- Controlling social impacts (integration of the informal sector, e.g. ragpickers).
