Golf courses Avlékété Golf Course
Description
The 45-hectare course is located near the fishing village of Avlékété (Ouidah commune), 25 km west of Cotonou, Benin's economic capital. Located in a wetland area between land and sea, it has undergone environmental studies to limit its impact.
Designed by the architect Jeremy Pern, behind some 30 golf courses worldwide, this major project represents a major step in the development of the #golf sector in the region. It will offer golf enthusiasts an exceptional playing experience.
The work is scheduled to take 24 months and employ 250 locally recruited staff. It includes the creation of an international-standard golf course, a club house and a pontoon allowing boat access to the site via the lagoon, all on a 100-hectare site.
Less than a kilometer from Club Med also planned for the area, is part of the government's plan to develop tourism in the country, by boosting business stays in Cotonou, cultural visits in Ouidah and seaside activities in Avlékété.

Shaping the course: Shaping, construction of bunkers, tees, greens, installation of riprap, paths, construction of bridges, construction of driving range, lighting.
Beautification of the course: grassing, growing, maintenance, construction of a nursery for plants dedicated to landscaping.
